As they have their whole lives, the demands Baby Boomers are being met and catered to by the consumer electronics market with the release of the Jitterbug mobile phone range. Its sure to be merely a frontrunner to a wave of technology aimed at an aging population.
The developers of this new phone have not just listened to the wants and needs of the customer but have actually implemented and produced product to satisfy the demand. The collaboration between Jitterbug and Samsung has produced a truly unique mobile phone that not only has a range of features designed to meet the needs of an aging population, but developed a whole web-based service to support the new phone.
There are two phones in the range.
The first is the Jitterbug. It is similar to a traditional mobile but has larger backlit buttons and a screen that displays large text for easy viewing. A new and innovative feature of this phone is the 0 button that gives direct access to a Jitterbug operator.
The second model is the Jitterbug One Touch and is designed with only three buttons.
- An operator button to reach a live jitterbug operator 24 hours a day.
- A middle button for direct acccess to whoever you want, and
- A one touch access to 911 services
This phone released only last October will appeal not only to those aging technophobic seniors because of its simplicity and ease of use, but to their children and family members who want to encourage their parents to not be afraid of technology and in fact embrace it.
