iPhone 3G S upgrades

iPhone 3G S……… not in store yet!

Woke up in Singapore this morning and went straight down to the Apple Store in the Funan Center to get the low down on the latest Iphone.

Looks great but disappointed on two counts;

1. Not available here yet

2. They are still locked into a plan. Apparently the only places this isn’t the case is Hong Kong and France.

Its improvements include faster speed;
The Fastest iPhone Ever

Fastest iPhone Ever

The first thing you’ll notice about iPhone 3G S is how quickly you can launch applications. Web pages render in a fraction of the time, and you can view email attachments faster. Improved performance and updated 3D graphics deliver an incredible gaming experience, too. In fact, everything you do on iPhone 3G S is up to 2x faster and more responsive than iPhone 3G.

Video - A great improvement for those wanting an all in one solution if travelling or blogging on the run;

iPhone 3G S Video

Now you can shoot video, edit it, and share it — all on your iPhone 3G S. Shoot high-quality VGA video in portrait or landscape. Trim your footage by adjusting start and end points. Then share your video in an email, post it to your MobileMe gallery, publish it on YouTube, or sync it back to your Mac or PC using iTunes.

Upgraded camera…but only a 3 Megapixel Camera. Many thought this upgrade would include at least be a 5 Megapixel capability;

The new 3-megapixel camera takes great still photos, too, thanks to built-in autofocus and a handy new feature that lets you tap the display to focus on anything (or anyone) you want.

Voice Control - A new feature;

Voice Control recognizes the names in your Contacts and knows the music on your iPod. So if you want to place a call or play a song, all you have to do is ask.

Compass. A cool new ‘trick’;

With a built-in digital compass, iPhone 3G S can point the way. Use the new Compass app, or watch as it automatically reorients maps to match the direction you’re facing.

Landscape Keyboard. This is a great improvement for those wanting a better content creation platform. Take a picture, add a commentary and upload. Sensational.

Want more room to type on the intelligent software keyboard? Rotate iPhone to landscape to use a larger keyboard in Mail, Messages, Notes, and Safari.

This is a big one anyone wanting full content creation ability;

Cut, Copy, and Paste;

iPhone...cut-copy-paste-photos

Cut, copy, and paste words.
Quickly cut, copy, and paste words with a tap. You can also copy content from the web, then paste it into an email or text message.

Copy and paste photos and videos.
Copy multiple photos and paste them into an email or an MMS. Copy videos you’ve shot. Or copy images from the web to send and share.

Plus, plus….

I have been waiting for this before jumping in and buying one. All in all it seems worth the wait. Now I just hope the wait to actually get my hands on one won’t take too long.
