About

This site is dedicated to the Baby Boomers.
Its aimed at covering the gambit of lifestyle issues that face the baby boomer generation now and as those we will face as we get older.
Those at the leading edge of the curve are about to retire. With that comes more free time.
With this newly found freedom is the chance to travel and and pursue leisure activities that we’ve always wanted to - so do it!
However its also true that they face now more than ever before the issues of aging and therefore ensuring they maintain a degree of fitness and health that allows them to enjoy their extra free time.

Good afternoon,

Did you know that October 4-10, 2009 is Keep a Silver Vixen Warm Week? No? What is it, you make ask? Only a truly great cause in which I know your readers will be interested in participating!

In every community there are Silver Vixens (women of a certain age – over 55) who will be cold this winter. While we wish we could wave a magic wand and solve the problem, we can’t, but we can start with keeping their necks warm!

So, from October 4th until October 10th, Silver Vixens (www.silvervixens.com) is inviting women over 55 to gather with their fellow knitters in the location of their choice – a house, yarn store, coffee shop, wherever! – for an evening of fun and philanthropy. The hope is that women throughout the country will knit up a washable scarf for a Silver Vixen in need, nothing fancy, just cute and something they might wear themselves.

If you or your readers are interested in participating in Keep a Silver Vixen Warm Week, you can contact Bonnie Price, founder of Silver Vixens, at bonnie@silvervixens.com. Let her know when you’re planning your event, along with your zip code, and she’ll provide two free scarf patterns that can be quickly finished, the name and address of a local organization to whom to donate the finished scarves, and pre-printed cards for each of the knitting circle members to enclose a personal note to the recipient.

Silver Vixens, a website designed to “burnish the image of Women of a Certain Age,” arose three years ago from a desire to create an avenue for fun, involved, smart, accomplished women who enjoy things like travel, eating in restaurants, shopping, and cultural events and want to share their experiences with others. Price, the “After 55” columnist and blogger for WomenEntrepreneur.com, is also the author and leader of the acclaimed workshop, “IT’S REINVENTION,” which is designed to help women proactively plan the next phase of their lives.

For more information or to speak with Bonnie Price, founder of Silvervixens.com, please contact me at Amanda@amandagriffithpr.com or 617-851-8335.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,
Amanda
